Mission: Our mission is to promote devotion to our Blessed
Mother through the image of her Immaculate Heart.
History: La Archicofradia has its roots in La Unión del Sagrado
Corazón De María which was founded in 1806 at the San
Eutiquio parish in Rome. This organization was later
officially established in 1863 thanks to the influence of St.
Anthony Mary Claret in Spain.
Claretian priest, Fr. Ricardo Treviño founded La
Archicofradia at St. John the Evangelist in San Marcos in
1948.
Activities: Under the guidance of our pastors, members serve and
support ideas, projects and programs for the parish to
benefit the community.
We have fundraisers throughout the year to help
offset our society's events as well as to give
donations to our parish.
We attend Mass together once a month at St. John
as part of our corporate communion where
members attend dressed in the proper emblem
of the confraternity and sit as a group and
participate in the Mass.
We invite the public to pray the Holy Rosary on
the 1st Saturday of each month, and during the
month of August when members partake in a
Novena of reconsecration to the Immaculate Heart
of Mary.
Membership: The organization includes 20 active members and another 20 honorary members.
We invite any Catholic women, age 18 and older,
living a life in good format to the Gospel to join.
Once you join, you are considered a member for life.
